07 Days Cairo – Alexandria – Siwa

Upon arrival Cairo Airport, our Royal Way representative will meet and assist you crossing the customs hall, then transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight.

Around 08:00 am, you will be picked by Royal Way Egyptologist in private air conditioned vehicle to explore one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Visit the impressive 3 Pyramids of Kings Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure which are guarded by the rock-cut statue (The Sphinx) a large half-human, half-lion statue.

The Great Pyramid of King Cheops is the only standing wonder from the ancient world, although it is 2,000 years older than any other wonder on the list.

Then you will proceed to visit the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiques which exhibits a collection now over 120000 masterpieces ranges from Pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period in Egypt including the treasures of the child King Tutankhamen, Pharaonic Gods and Goddess, with option visit to the mummies room at the Egyptian Museum where you may learn about the Great Egyptian civilization and the mummification art in ancient Egypt.

Then ending our tour with going to Khan el Khalili Bazaar which is one of Cairo's main attractions ..the district of Khan el Khalili was originally a mausoleum called "el Zaafran" for the burial of Fatimid Caliphs ,after that it became a district for the Turkish community during the Ottoman period , and now it becomes a bazaar where you will find many souvenirs shops ,coffeehouses "Café" serving Arabic coffee and offering Hookah "Shisha", and restaurants throughout the area. Then you will be picked up to your hotel to stay overnight.

Breakfast at hotel, then around 07:00 am meet your guide and head north towards Alexandria, Egypt’s second capital to discover the beauty of the Greco Roman civilization.

Will start our tour by visiting Catacombs which considered one of the Seven Wonders of the middle age, It's the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt, with three tiers of tombs that could accommodate up to 300 corpses. The cemetery originally was dug to be a private cemetery for one family, then it was converted to be a public cemetery the architecture of the tombs mirrors Greco-Roman styles.

After finish our first visit in Alexander the Great city, will get a photo stop at Qaitbay’s Citadel, the 15th -century defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean Sea coast. The Citadel is situated at the entrance of the eastern harbor on the eastern point of the Pharos Island. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Then stop for lunch at a nice sea food restaurant, ending your tour by visiting the Montazah Royal Palaces and Gardens which belonging to the royal family of Mohamed Ali Pasha from Khedive Abbas Helmy II till King Farouk I, you will wander around the 3000 meters wide gardens containing a huge selection of trees and plants and some of them are quite rare. In the morning after breakfast, checking out, then Royal Way Tour Guide will pick you from your hotel by air conditioned vehicle to travel to Siwa oasis.

First stop will be at Alamein where the great battle took place during WW II, and visit the WW II Museum and cemetery, then proceed our drive to Marsa Matrouh city, one of the beautiful cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea Cost where we will stop for lunch at nice sea food restaurant before continuing our trip to Siwa Oasis (about 4 hours) from Marsa Matrouh.

Enjoy a visit to the Old City of Siwa (Shali), It was founded in the 13th century. It was built on a hill inside a protective wall originally breached by a single gate; to be a fortress in the middle of Siwa city to protect the city from the tribal attacks.

Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Siwa for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will be picked by Horse Drawn Carriage to visit the famous sites around Siwa, starting with the Mountain of the Dead "Gabal al Maouta" which is located 1 km outside the city of Siwa, the mountain is full of ancient tombs and has a calcareous soil and the tombs take the shape of a hive of a bee carved in the stone. There are some interesting tombs worth to be visited like Niperpathot, Si-Amon, Mesu Isis, and the Crocodile Tomb.

Then, going to The Temple of the Oracle or the Temple of Alexander the Great. It was built on Aghurmi Plateau (about 4 km east of Siwa town). Its remains now have beautiful drawings and carvings telling the story of the temple with portrait to god Amon. The temple is famous because it's believed that Alexander the great had visited the temple.

Moving on to visit Cleopatra's Pool "Ein Guba" which is a stone pool fed by a natural hot spring where the Egyptian queen herself is said to have swam there during her visit to Siwa. Now, you can take a nice swim there to refresh yourself after a hot day tour.

Ending the tour with a visit to Fatnas Island which is completely covered with Palms and trees. It lies beside Siwa Lake. You can stay there till the sunset as the view there is very spectacular with the different colors.

After that you will be transferred back to your hotel to stay in Siwa overnight.

Breakfast, check-out then you will be escort by air-conditioned vehicle back to Cairo (800 Km), upon arrival Cairo, upon arrival Cairo you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight Cairo.

Breakfast at your hotel, check-out then you will be transferred to Cairo airport for flight back home.
